    To analyze the flow characteristics in series labyrinth channel, a dynamic model for fluid flow in the channel was established to estimate and determine the pressure drop characteristics through numerical analysis, which provides important reference for design optimization of the flow channel.

    The effects of gas composition on computational precision of TFgLvCr and boiler efficiency were quantitatively analyzed with 3 kinds of fuel respectively using iterative and analytical method in the case with no air leakage and considering the variation of dry gas composition in the relations between tempeature and enthalpy of gas. Results show that the gas composition has considerable effect on the computational precision of TFgLvCr which should not be ignored in the performance calculation of air heater; the computational precision of TFgLvCr increases with the rise of DpO2En; the computational precision of TFgLvCr increases with the rise of Qar,gross, using the iterative method, which is slightly affected by Qar,gross using the analytical method. For the TFgLvCr, the computational precision of analytical method is higher than the iterative method. For a certain DpO2En, there exists a highest computational precision of boiler efficiency, corresponding to which the point depends on both the fuel category and the calculation algorithm, whereas for a certain Qar,gross, there also exists a highest computational precision of boiler efficiency, corresponding to which the point depends on both the DpO2En and the calculation algorithm.

    A comparison was made to the main technical features, delivery experience, operation performance, main technical parameters, heating capacity and heat economy index of PG9351FA and PG9371FB combined cycle heating units. Results show that compared with 9FA combined cycle units, 9FB units have certain advantages in terms of performance, while PG9351FA units have obvious advantages in delivery experience, operation performance and so on.

    High-voltage jet-type electrode steam boiler, due to its particular heating principle, will carry certain amount of sodium ion in the outlet steam, which will be brought to the secondary loop and result in damage risk to the steam generator. This article intends to present how the high-voltage jet-type electrode steam boiler can produce steam that meets the operation requirements of nuclear power station by analyzing the sodium ion concentration control technology, keeping the boiler water conductivity at a desired level automatically by applying a chemical dosing system, significantly removing the water droplets in the steam via high-efficiency moisture separator, thus greatly reducing the sodium ion concentration in the steam at boiler outlet. nuclear power plant; electrode boiler; sodium ion; concentration control

    The process of automatic mode 100% fast cut-back (FCB) test on unit 1 of Indonesia RATU Power Plant was introduced, and the feasibility to achieve FCB function for the coal-fired unit with low capacity bypass configuration was studied. By analyzing the test results, it is pointed out that the turbine speed control, CRH pressure control, high exhaust temperature control, main steam pressure control and the boiler combustion control are the key factors influencing the realization of FCB function. Moreover, further analysis was made to problems existing in the unit concerning the FCB function realization.

    Focusing on the deficiency of built-in alarm function module in DCS control system of power plant that the function module cannot filter out important alarms from large amount of messages, it is proposed to separate the alarm function module from the control system, for which a set of integrated sound alarm system is developed, so as to overcome the deficiency of original warning systems.

    An analysis is carried out to main factors influencing the classification of nuclear equipment surveillance, together with a summery on the basic classification ways. Further research is conducted on classification of equipment surveillance activities in AP1000 nuclear power stations according to characteristics of the safety system and equipment classification system. Suggestions are proposed for effective classification of domestic nuclear equipment surveillance, which have already been applied on an actual project of AP1000 nuclear power station.

    For a newly proposed silencer, an analysis was carried to the effects of following factors on its performance by simulation calculation, such as the overall dimension, structure and noise absorption material, etc. Experimental tests prove the silencer to have good performance in noise elimination, and the simulation calculation agrees well with the experimental tests. When the inlet noise level is 149 dB, the noise elimination will be more than 84 dB, indicating good performance of the silencer.

    To solve the problem existing in the 2×600 MW supercritical steam turbines of Guangdong Zhuhai Jinwan Power Generation Co., Ltd. that the differential expansion of low pressure cylinder has exceeded its safety value specified by the manufacturer, an analysis was conducted to the influece of relative operation parameters of steam turbine on the differential expansion value, so as to work out the control strategy for the low pressure cylinder differential expansion. Practice have proved the methods to be effective in controlling the differential expansion of low pressure cylinder, and therefore safety operation of the unit is guaranteed.

    Taking the heat exchanger applied in Qinshan Phase II Nuclear Power Plant as an example, an introduction is being presented to the structure of its plate heat exchanger, as well as to the wear failures frequently encountered at sea water inlet and outlet due to high sand content in sea water. By analyzing the wear causes, repair schemes are proposed for worn plates, and suggestions for application and maintenance of the plate heat exchanger are put forward simultaneously.

    An analysis was performed on possible causes leading to tube-to-header fillet weld cracking in a 2 141 t/h boiler between the front water wall and its upper header, from aspects of design, manufacture and construction, etc., together with an introduction to specific treatment measures taken and corresponding effects obtained. Simultaneously, some suggestions are proposed for treatment of similar problems.

    An analysis was carried out on the core locking-up failure of electric feed water pump in a 300 MW unit due to cavitation and cut-off of water caused by pressure rise at pump inlet during load rejection process. Results show that during the fast reduction of water pump speed, the water temperature increases quickly, leading to rub-impact between the pump impeller and the seal ring, where the pump water is further heated, and subsequently gets vaporized with the drop of outlet pressure. Preventive measures are finally proposed for similar problems.

    To solve the common problems that high copper content exists in the deposit of turbine blades in 600 MW once-through boiler units, an investigation was made to the measurement results in thermodynamic system of 7 units, after which an analysis was performed to the causes from following 3 aspects, such as the main material adopted for the thermodynamic system, the copper content in steam during operation period and the depositing characteristics of copper, etc. It is pointed out that the copper content in turbine blade can be reduced by improving supervision on steam quality, optimizing treatment of feed water and appropriately controlling the peeling of oxide skins.

    An introduction is being presented to typical faults occurring in boiler heating surfaces of a 1 890 t/h supercritical unit, together with an analysis on the causes leading to above faults, to which practicable countermeasures are proposed and taken with good effects obtained. Key areas are listed where more attention should be paid during abrasion- and explosion-proof inspection of boiler heating surfaces, which may serve as a reference for inspection and prevention of supercritical boiler “four-tube” leakage, abrasion and explosion.

    Large generator vibration occurs in a 220 MW turbo-generator set after overhaul, which is greatly affected by the hydrogen temperature, and the thermal bow induced vibration caused by uneven cooling of generator rotor reduces with the rise of hydrogen temperature. The unsteady vibration has been finally eliminated by using thermal balance method.

    To find the causes leading to flameout of once-through boiler and subsequent unit shutdown after sudden power loss of the feed water pump of a 200 MW thermal power unit, an analysis was carried out to the failure process from the perspective of hydrodynamic characteristics of the feed water pump and once-through boiler, based on which corresponding countermeasures were proposed, so as to ensure safe operation of the unit.

    According to the too long valve switching time caused by speed fluctuation of the turbine during TV-GV switching process of a 300 MW subcritical unit when the unit was operated at 2 950 r/min in start-up period, and by analyzing the combined startup speed of the HP-IP cylinder and the valve switching control logic, in combination with the dynamic process of valve switching and relevant rolling-up parameters, the problem was found to be caused by reheat pressure fluctuation. It is proposed to prevent abnormal speed fluctuation and shorten the time of valve switching by adjusting the opening of both high and low pressure bypass valves, so as to keep reheat pressure stable in the process of valve switching. This may serve as a reference for startup, commissioning and operation of similar power generation units.

    To solve the contact-rubbing problem existing between low-pressure rotor blades and diaphragms found during overhaul in a 1 000 MW steam turbine unit, a field turning device was developed. By comparing the field turning scheme and return turning scheme, the former one is found to be better, with which the contact-rubbing problem was solved.

    To achieve the “three simultaneous” target in the design, construction and commissioning of both thermal power unit and its environmental protection facility, and to satisfy the requirements of pollutant emission standards, the pratice in the “three in one” expansion project for Huaneng Shaanxi Qinling Power Generation Co., Ltd. was taken as an example, in which synchronous startup of the main unit, the electrostatic precipitator and the desulfurization system were achieved in the tiny-oil ignition mode without anly equipment damage or safety hazard encountered, and with all technicators and flue gas emission meeting relevant environmental protection standards.

    Solar tower heat collector has the advantages of high parameters, high capacity, and high converting efficiency. To reduce the initial investment of energy system, the solar tower heat collector is integrated with the combined cycle heat recovery steam generator (HRSG), which is so called integrated solar combined cycle (ISCC). Thermal performance of the integrated system is analyzed according to four kinds of water/steam processes with professional software, so as to find the best way among all typical integration patterns and give supports for commercial utilization of this technology.
