    Cold aerodynamic fields of LNASB and HT-NR3 burner have been measured, so as to analyze how following parameters influence the burner performance, such as the shape, size and position of the circumfluence area and the jet expansion angle, etc. It is pointed out that establishing an annular circumfluence area between primary and secondary air flow would be better for delaying the secondary air supply, prohibiting NOx formation, preventing burner nozzles and nearby water wall from being burned out and slagging, reducing ignition temperature, promoting ignition of pulverized coal, and therefore securing a stable combustion of the burner.

    Regarding the separator performance of a GS4366 coal ball mill for the 600 MW unit boiler under-construction in Sichuan CPI Fuxi Power Co., Ltd., a numerical simulation of gas-solid two-phase flow has been carried out to obtain gas-powder flow field in the separator at baffle openings of 64° and 90°, and determine separation effect for different particle sizes at a baffle opening in 38°-90°. Results show that the separation efficiency is relatively high when the baffle opening is in 38°-64°, therefore it is proposed to add adjustment points within this range to make the fineness and uniformity of coal powder in coal pulverizing system meet relevant requirements.

    An IGCC (integrated gasification combined cycle) system is very complicated, which integrates a variety of equipment and technology, such as the gasifier, air separation unit, gas turbine, heat recovery steam generator and steam turbine, etc., covering the chemical and power generation industry. By analyzing the characteristic difference between syngas and natural gas, and the influence of syngas on gas turbine performance, a discussion has been carried out on the retrofit design of gas turbine for the purpose of changing the fuel from natural gas into syngas. The experience may serve as a reference for design of IGCC gas turbines.

    Combined with the practice in Beijing Taiyanggong gas-fired thermal power Co., Ltd., problems in logic of main protection signals and software configuration of the Bently 3500 series steam-turbine monitoring instrument have been analyzed, for which corresponding treatment schemes are put forward. Moreover, the status of unqualified protective signal has been summarized and analyzed, and the analysis results have filled up the blank of relative standards and rules in electric power industry, which may therefore serve as a reference for treatment of unqualified protective signals of turbines.

    Regarding the EDPF-NT PLUS distributed control system used in the 660 MW ultra super-critical unit in a power station, an introduction is being presented to the constitution of its DCS communication network, the configuration of the network switch, the features and distribution of its DPU controller, and the structure and property of the EDPF-NT system.     In view of the relationship between the operational efficiency of a boiler and the sootblowing effectiveness of its heat surfaces, the improvement of fouling monitoring against the heat surface has been introduced through installing temperature measuring devices on inner and outer surface of boiler water wall in Matsuura Thermal Power Plant so as to realize the automatic control of on-demand sootblowing in the boiler furnace. This may serve as a reference for development of relevant domestic technologies.

    In view of improving the tiny-oil ignition burner for a W-flame boiler, an optimized adjustment has been made on the primary air speed, circumferential air baffle opening, coal mill operation mode, total air volume and other aspects through tests, based on which a cold-state start-up has been successfully realized for the first time directly with anthracite powder and without warming the furnace previously.

    The closed loop cooling tower is adopted for the circulating water cooling of a 600 MW power unit and the house power of the circulating pump was 1.0 percent. To further reduce the house power consumption of the circulating pump, a frequency conversion retrofit has been made so as to achieve a continuous adjustment of the circulating water. Based on test results obtained after retrofit, an optimization scheme is proposed for operation of the retrofitted circulating pump of a 600 MW power unit.

    During the commissioning process of a 1000MW steam turbine unit, an analysis was carried out on the unsteady vibration fault occurring in the tilting-pad bearing. Based on the vibration characteristics, the oil whirl and oil whip existing in the tilting-pad bearing are found to be the main causes leading to the intensified vibration, which has finally been reduced by extending the length and enlarging the turning radius of pipeline in jacking oil system.

    The current development status of 350 MW supercritical steam turbine has been introduced. Taking eight 350 MW supercritical units already in operation for example, their technical differences are compared and their performance status is summed up. Simultaneously, main factors affecting heat consumption rate of the turbine have been analyzed, while major measures to reduce the heat consumption rate put forward including the overhaul details. Obvious results have been obtained after implementation of all the measures.

    To solve the problem that double back pressure cant be formed in a 600 MW steam turbine due to too close of pressure in the high and low pressure condenser, an optimization is made to the pipeline arrangement in the vacuum system. In this way, double back pressure is effectively formed in the high and low pressure condenser, and the unit vacuum degree is greatly raised, based on which both the stability and the economy of the unit are increased.

    Composition of an electrostatic precipitator has been briefly introduced, while problems existing in the precipitator analyzed, such as the high energy consumption, unstable communication and laggard high-voltage rectification equipment, etc. Causes leading to above problems are analyzed, based on which a retrofit is made by altering its high-frequency power source, modifying the control logic and changing the network communication mode. Obvious energy-saving effects and high working reliability have been obtained after the retrofit.

    Technical features of the SNCR-SCR combined denitrification method have been described, while a comparison made between the SNCR-SCR combined method and traditional denitration modes on technical and economical aspects. Results show that the SNCR-SCR method has advantages of high safety, low investment, low operation cost and high flexibility, which is therefore applicable for small and medium coal-fired boilers, especially reconstruction projects.
