    To deal with the global financial crisis and promote the economical structure adjustment, the way of developing green and low carbon economy becomes more and more important. By analyzing the present status of domestic power equipment manufacturing industry for green and low carbon power generation, ideas for development of the industry in the coming 10 years are proposed. To meet the development requirement of green and low carbon economy, it is suggested that efforts should be made on the structural adjustment of power equipment manufacturing industry and on the development of new technologies for high-efficiency power generation with new energy resources.

    Under the experimental conditions with pressure in 8~10 MPa, mass velocity in 350~660 kg/(m2·s) and steam quality in 0~1, characteristic studies have been made on frictional pressure drop of steam-water two-phase flow in a hexagonal internally ribbed tube with diameter of 38.1 mm and wall thickness of 7.5 mm, during which the experimental section was horizontally placed. Experimental results show that pressure has a noticeable effect on the frictional pressure drop of steam-water two-phase flow, and the two-phase multiplier reduces with rising pressure, which approaches 1 at critical pressure; as the steam quality increases, the multiplier firstly rises and then reduces; with the growth of mass velocity, the multiplier varies in a decreasing tendency. The B coefficient in the experimental correlation for calculation of the frictional pressure drop has also been discussed.

    Taking the 2×1 025 t/h boilers in a certain power plant as an example, the influence of mixed burning with Juye shaped coal in the boiler has been analyzed against the boiler efficiency, house power and coal consumption, fuel and cost of power generation. Result show that the saved cost because of burning lower heat value shaped coal can compensate the cost increased by high coal consumption, which may therefore bring obvious economic benefit under the condition of large price difference between present shaped coal and raw coal. A reasonable way of coal mixing has been put forward based on the technical features in burning of the shaped coal.

    Taking into account the effect of centrifugal force, gravity and aerodynamic force against the fan impeller, the aerodynamic force on the impeller surface was obtained through steady state numerical simulation by fan flow field with the software CFX, after which the result was led into the finite element software ANSYS for the strength investigation of the impeller. Calculation results show that the maximum overall deformation would occur in the middle position on the blade suction surface and the maximum equivalent stress would occur in the shroud of the impeller. Under different stable working conditions, the maximum equivalent stress values are different, but there is only little difference.

    Kinetic characteristics of CO2 gasification for coke were researched at temperatures from 800 ℃ to 950 ℃ on a fixed bed for the purpose of coal gasification. Calculations were made in accordance with the normal distribution model, which had well reflected the variable law of coke gasification rate along with the conversion rate at different temperatures. Results show that in the beginning of gasification, the gasification rate is the largest, which will then gradually decrease along with the increasing of coke conversion rate. The relationship between the largest kinetic rate and the temperature in the model conforms to the Arrhenius Law, based on which the activation energy of coke CO2 gasification is calculated to be 192.305 4 kJ/mol.

    In light of the flow accelerating corrosion (FAC) occurring on the baffle plate in the low-pressure drum of a combined cycle unit, causes leading to the FAC have been analyzed, such as the plate material, drum operating temperature, boiler water handling conditions and boiler water flowing status, etc. The possibility of FAC on other components within the drum has also been discussed while methods to inhibit the FAC put forward.

    There were two induced draft fans for the 3 033 t/h boiler and two booster fans in the desulfurizing system in Huaneng Haimen Power Plant, which were all of the adjustable static-blade axial-flow type and had high power consumption in operation. In order to reduce the house power, the induced draft fan and the booster fan were integrated into one and the retrofit on capacity enlargement of the induced draft fan was carried out. After implementation of the said scheme, the house power rate has been reduced by 0.335% in full load operation of the unit, indicating remarkable energy-saving effect.

    Air distribution mode plays an important role in influencing the stable combustion, safety and economical operation and environmental indicators of a boiler. An analysis has been carried out for adjustment optimization of the air distribution mode, including the secondary air, SOFA and CCOFA. Factors affecting the thermal efficiency and NOx emission have been found and corresponding optimization measures have been carried out, after which good results have been obtained.

    As the induced draft (ID) fan becomes larger after being integrated with desulphurization booster fan, the increasing motor starting-up current has brought on unreliability to the power system. It is proposed to drive the ID fan by steam turbine so as to reduce the house power consumption rate. Technology and applications of ID fan driven by steam turbine have been studied, of which the economical effects have been compared with that of the motor-driven one. Study results show that the program is feasible.

    The tube bundle vibration problem, often occurring during operation of the waste heat boiler, has been analyzed. Measures have been put forward on the structural arrangement so as to prevent waste heat boiler vibration, such as adopting a rational choice of flue gas flow rate, adding anti-vibration partitions, increasing tube constraints and changing the bundle structure, etc.

    The air separation unit (ASU) in an integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) provides the gasification unit with high-pressure nitrogen, medium-pressure oxygen, instrument air and plant air, which has also relations with the gas turbine in the power plant. As a result, the operation of ASU is very important to stable operation of the IGCC power plant. Features of four kinds of ASU configurations in IGCC power plants have been analyzed and compared, while common malfunctions of ASU and corresponding handling ways summarized.

    The significance of monitoring & controlling the oxygen concentration in boiler flue gas and its correction function on adjustment of air supply system are briefly described. The internal structure, measuring principle and routine maintenance of AZ20 oxygen analyzer head and relevant problems occurring in its operation have also been introduced. Operational practice shows that the performance of the analyzer is good, which just requires a little work for maintenance.

    The performance, structure and design features of the ball valve with 1.6 m diameter used in Xiaotiandu Hydropower Station have been introduced. Some new structures were adopted in the design, which made the layout of ball valve more reasonable and the performance more excellent, resulting in improved techno-economic index. The valve is now operating very well.

    The technologies of sinter cooling waste heat power generation and characteristics of sintering waste heat resources both at home and abroad are summarized, based on which a thermodynamic model of the sinter cooling waste heat power generation system is set up. The relationship between the main steam parameters and the maximum power generation capacity is analyzed, including main factors affecting the system power generation, after which optimum main steam parameters are obtained.

    Many important parameters which will influence the operation safety and economy of thermal power plant can’t be measured on-time. But soft measuring technology can be used to substitute software for hardware (sensor) through the mathematical relationship set between primary variables hard to be measured and auxiliary variables easy to be measured. The basic way of the soft measuring technology are being introduced, while a general theory of soft measuring model and the way of model setting put forward. Moreover, an introduction is presented to the application of the soft measuring technology to the thermal control in a fossil-fired power plant with examples.

    The function, composition and implementation of some turbine-generator vibration monitoring and fault diagnosis systems (TDM system) have been introduced and the advantages and disadvantages of different TDM systems have simply been evaluated. Field application shows that the vibration monitoring function of TDM system may help to reduce the times of unit shutdown, and accordingly increase the unit efficiency and lower the power generation cost.

    Evolution and development of power generation overhaul systems have been described and the main domestic overhaul tactics currently used have been contrastingly analyzed, based on which an optimized overhaul strategy is put forward by combining the fusion fault overhaul, regular overhaul and status overhaul into an integral one so as to provide effective means of improving the reliability of equipment, reducing overhaul cost and improving the management level of power equipment overhaul.
