    The finite element analysis method and test method of stiffness of the foundation and bearing pedestal for 600 MW supercritical air-cooling unit are introduced. The static stiffness calculated results of a three cylinder tandem compound four exhaust 600 MW supercritical air-cooling unit’s foundation and bearing pedestal based on finite element method are presented, and dynamic stiffness of the same level supercritical unit’s foundation and bearing pedestal in the field test are obtained. Based on the support stiffness of bearing offered by the factory and the data obtained by the field test, the comparative calculation of critical speed of the shaft system comes out. By researching the stiffness characteristics of foundation and bearing pedestal for this type set in many aspects, the results could be used as a guide on the design of the dynamic characteristics of the shaft system with the similar type or the same level set.

    In order to investigate turbomachinery aerodynamic noise and its mechanism, a low noise wind tunnel has been designed and implemented. In the design process, detailed aerodynamic calculation of the main components is given, as well as the design basis. After the completion of the wind tunnel, flow field and aeroacoustic characterization of the facility are measured. The results show that maximum wind speed in the test section is 81 m/s and wind tunnel flow quality can achieve the design requirements with low turbulence and low background noise.

    Steam turbine performance test of a gas turbine unit expanded to combined cycle is introduced.Test program, calculation method, correction method and test uncertainty calculation method are given. The test is analyzed and recommendation for optimizing the plan is presented. It is obtained though the test that the total uncertainty of heat rate is ±0.420 and the total uncertainty of generation output is ± 0.355%. It is showed that the test program can ensure accurate and valid results.

    The modal tests of turbine rotor for the blast furnace top gas pressure recovery turbine unit (TRT) are accomplished with rotor supported on the bracket and the elastic rope suspended state respectively. The effect of different constraints on rotor modal is analyzed. Based on the finite element model of the turbine rotor in a free state, the modes are given by the modal analysis of the TRT rotor, then the calculation values and the measured values of the main natural bending vibration frequency are compared. The results show that the turbine rotor supported on the bracket may exist modes between the horizontal and vertical orientations, whereas turbine rotor suspended on flexible steel wire rope can be approximately taken as free state. Simultaneously, the finite element analysis results and the measured values of turbine rotors natural frequency agree well especially in lower order frequencies. This may serve as a reference for future turbine rotor’s modal analysis.

    By numerical simulation on a boiler with swirl burners, the effects of following factors on mass concentration of NOx emission have been analyzed, such as the radial velocity at outlet of secondary air, the bias mode, the dense dilute ratio and the external secondary air ratio, etc. The original bluff body has been modified, during which reasonable shape and position of bluff body with better bias effect is obtained. By combining the calculated optimal parameters and the retrofitted burner structure, an optimal parameter combination is obtained, in which case the lowest mass concentration of NOx emission can be reached.

    A pressure monitoring device for electrical penetration assemblies (EPA) in nuclear power plant has been introduced. General stress analysis and evaluation to the device have been made by ANSYS finite element analysis in accordance with RCC-M. Analysis results indicate that the pressure monitoring device can meet relevant strength requirements of RCC-M, which can safely and reliably operate in the life time of nuclear power plants.

    The steam temperature control strategies for feed water pump RB process in ultra-supercritical units have been studied. The influence of ratio of fuel to water, excessive air coefficient and enthalpy control on steam temperature has been theoretically analyzed. Taking the 1 000 MW unit as an example, the setting points of fuel supply, water supply and airflow that impact the steam temperature have been logically discussed, while control strategies for feed water pump RB process put forward. Tests have been done to verify the effectiveness of the control strategies.

    In view of the economy of the condenser liquid-ring type vacuum system, analysis on both the energy-saving principle of frequency conversion controlling and the effect of the revolution against the vacuum pump efficiency the has been carried out and the conclusion which the energy-saving result is not obvious has been obtained by the frequency conversion improvement of the condenser vacuum system. The way of direct stopping operation of the vacuum pump without breaking vacuum will be adopted while the combined cycle unit with two-shift operations stops. The vacuum pump will be put into operation when the combined cycle unit starts up again so as to achieve effective conservation of energy.

    By performance tests and corresponding analysis to the ZGM113G-II type mill, causes leading to irrational operation of the pulverizing system have been found out, to which an adjustment way is put forward. Study results show that the fineness R 90 of pulverized coal is within 4%~13% under various test conditions, and the uniform index n is within 0.66~1.17; the air flow rate at air ring area is below 85 m/s under most test conditions; the maximum coal feed rate is 75 t/h, with a corresponding mill power consumption of 6.123 kW·h/t; from the point of view of coking relieving, the deflector baffle opening should be set at 60/60; the coal feed rate would better be set within 65~70 t/h, while the primary air pressure be controlled within 10~12 kPa and the hydraulic loading pressure be controlled within 7.5~9.5 kPa.

    By air distribution tests, the influence of air distribution on boiler slagging and NOx emission of a 300 MW power unit has been studied. Test results indicate that appropriate air supply rate and smaller secondary air damper opening would help to reduce not only furnace slagging, but also NOx emission.

    In view of the matter of noise cancellation of condenser vacuum signals, ICA (Independent Composition Analysis) is used in accordance with the detected conditions and the characteristics of detected objects, virtual noise channel is introduced and the de-noising model for condenser vacuum signals is established. From the practice of de-noising simulation, it can identify that the ICA model is efficient for de-noising which is of great value to de-noising against condenser vacuum signal.

    Regarding image reconstruction, an introduction is being presented to the configuration and fundamentals of electrical capacitance tomography, and the fusion method and rules of multi-resolution image. Image fusion has been made with simulation results from pre-processing projection Landweber algorithm and improved Tikhonov regularization algorithm. Results show that with image fusion technology, high resolution imaging can be obtained, indicating by high similarity of imaging to prototype after removal of redundant information, which therefore can be applied to real-time on-site image reconstruction of two-phase flow.

    An introduction is being presented to the concept of intelligent coal yard, together with a discussion on general functional requirements of the intelligent coal yard management system, and a description to specific structure, individual module functions and application status of a newly developed management system. Application of the system may help to realize intelligent management on coal yard and blended coal combustion according to actual requirement of boiler, so as to achieve optimized fuel control for power plants.     Regarding the variable-frequency speed regulation electric generator applicable for wind power plant and pumped storage power station, basic principles, structural characteristics and advantages of the non-salient pole AC synchronous generator have been introduced. The rotating speed can be altered by adjusting the frequency, amplitude and phase of the three-phase AC excitation current. Via vector control, the active and reactive power can be adjusted quickly according to actual variation of network power load.

    To solve the problems existing in a 1 175 t/h boiler, such as high residual rotation of the flue gas at furnace outlet and high deviation of the gas flow, gas temperature and steam temperature during upward swinging of the burner, caused by underheating of the superheater due to insufficient heating surfaces, which have led to overheating of the reheater and increased water consumption for subsequent attempering purpose, specific retrofit measures have been proposed, such as lengthening the platen superheater downward by 1 m and adding a coil of vertical tube to the low-temperature superheater, etc. Above problems have finally been solved after implementation of the retrofit measures.

    To reduce the formation and peeling-off of oxide scales on high-temperature heating surface of boiler, and the sediment of oxide scales in pipeline and flow path of turbine, a study has been carried out on the oxidizing treatment of feedwater, oxidation control of heating surface, peeling-off prevention of oxide scales and control optimization of feedwater oxygenation, after which countermeasures and noteworthy items are put forward for control of the oxide scales in 1 036 MW units. Application results prove above measures to be effective in controlling the generation, peeling-off and sediment of oxide scales on heating surface of boiler, which would ensure safety and reliable running of the units.

    In view of the problem of the condensate pump playing no more role in the operation after improvement owing to restraint of the sealed water pressure of the pump, the improvement of sealed water system and its shaft seal form has been put forward so as fully to play the potential energy-saving role of the frequency conversion of condensate pump and to improve the water level control of the deaerator. The practice shows that the energy-saving rate of the frequency conversion pump is increased from 38.43% into 61.21%.

    Regarding wearing and tube rupture issues of the external medium-temperature superheater II for the 1 025 t/h CFB boiler of a power plant, causes leading to above problems are analyzed, such as the deficiency in structure and the rub-impact faults due to vibration. For anti-wear and anti-vibration purposes, corresponding countermeasures are put forward, which are proved to be effective in solving above problems.
